Global Money Week 2024
The Global Money Week (GMW) is an annual global awareness-raising campaign on the importance of the financial literacy for young people from an early age. It is aimed at the progressive development of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors that are necessary for young people to make informed financial decisions, as a result of which they can achieve financial well-being and financial sustainability.
GMW promotes efforts aimed at improving the financial literacy of young people, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that all children and youth have access to high-quality financial education, are knowledgeable about money matters, and are able to make smart financial decisions that can improve their future financial sustainability and financial well-being.
The event will take place in the period 18-24 March 2024 and will have as a theme "Protect your money, secure your future!". At the national level, the initiative is coordinated by Junior Achievement Bulgaria, with the institutional support and partnership of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education and Science.
The organized activities are aimed both at children, students and young people, as well as at their parents and teachers.

From 2020, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), through its International Network for Financial Education (INFE), took GMW from Child and Youth Financial International and integrating it into its work plan and structure. Under this initiative, the coordinator for Bulgaria in the recent years has been Junior Achievement Bulgaria. Since its launch in 2012, the initiative has reached over 60 million children and youth in 176 countries around the world.
The activities carried out within the framework of GMW include open lessons, thematic camps, visits to banks and financial institutions. In the recent years, competitions have been organized - at the local and national level. The "Manager for a Day" initiative has been taking place for almost 20 years and over the years the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Supervision Commission, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange JSC, as well as various financial institutions have participated in it.
