The OPAC-funded project "Strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Finance in the area of financial services and markets" has been closed successfully. Mrs. Milena Boykova, Director of Government Debt and Financial Markets Directorate said this at the wrap-up press conference. It was partnered by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance. The agreement between both government institutions was signed in 2012 and aimed at supporting the refinement of practices in the elaboration of quality and effective legislation in the area of financial services and financial markets.

Project implementation supported the work of civil servants in the area of financial services in analyzing, arranging and conducting effective policies. Mrs. Boykova specified that good partner relations between both countries would facilitate the work within the decision-making process of the European Union and the discussion of new regulatory rules and requirements at EU level in the area of financial services and financial markets. Mrs. Margit Mischkulnig, chief expert at the Coordination of EU Affairs Division of the Ministry of Finance of Austria, said that this project had been implemented in a very dynamic time for everybody working in the area of financial services and markets.
