The Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov has taken over the rotational ECOFIN Council Presidency. The Bulgarian Finance Minister took over from his Estonian counterpart Toomas Tõniste during the last ECOFIN meeting for the Estonian Presidency held today in Brussels, Belgium. 

Estonia, Bulgaria and Austria are the three countries taking the rotational presidency of the Council of the EU in the July 2017 – December 2018 period. The first ECOFIN meeting to be chaired by Minister Goranov will take place on 23 January 2018 in Brussels.
