THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE REOPENED A 3-YEAR ISSUE OF BGN DENOMINATED GOVERNMENT SECURITIES AT 0.47% YIELD

The Ministry of Finance reopened the 3-year issue of Government Securities (GS) with maturity 28 January 2018. Securities to the amount of BGN 150 million were offered and respectively approved at the auction held on 26 October 2015. An annual average weighted yield of 0.47% was achieved, being the lowest yield achieved since the launch of the issue in January 2015. For comparison, the yield at the previous auction in September was 0.49%. The total amount subscribed reached BGN 163.75 million, the coverage coefficient being 1.09.
The spread to the benchmark German Bunds in this segment is 80 b.p.
The biggest amount of GS acquired banks - 98.23% and the remaining 1.77% were bought by pension funds.
