Minister of Finance and rotating Chair of the Board of Governors of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Temenuzhka Petkova met with the President of the international financial institution Nadia Calviño. They discussed the upcoming commitments within the mandate of the Bulgarian Minister of Finance as Chair of the Board of Governors. The meeting was held in Brussels, where Minister Petkova is on a working visit to participate in the regular meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council of the European Union (ECOFIN).

During the meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance Metodi Metodiev, they discussed the cooperation with the EIB, including in the context of the new initiatives of the European Commission in the field of defence and security. The Bulgarian Minister of Finance praised the leading role of the institution in the context of the upcoming challenges to the complicated geopolitical environment.

Minister Petkova and Nadia Calviño also discussed the opportunities for cooperation and investments of the EIB in Bulgaria in the context of the Bank's extended mandate. It was noted that the Bank would continue to provide financing in support of key strategic priorities both within and outside the EU.
