The Minister of Finance Temenuzhka Petkova held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Finance of Germany Jörg Kukies and the Minister of Economy of Denmark Stephanie Lose during her participation in the Eurogroup meeting. Minister Petkova discussed with them the priority legislative files aimed at boosting EU competitiveness. The discussion with Minister Jörg Kukies focused on the first omnibus package aimed at simplifying companies’ sustainability reporting obligations. Minister Stephanie Lose presented the priorities of the upcoming Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU and discussed the topics in the current agenda of the ECOFIN Council with the Bulgarian Finance Minister.

Minister Petkova briefed the two ministers on the country’s progress towards the introduction of the euro on 1 January 2026. In this regard, Minister Kukies said that since the country’s inclusion in ERM II Germany’s support for Bulgaria’s membership in the euro area had been consistent. Denmark, in its role as future Presidency of the Council, is committed to assisting the accession process in organisational terms.
