THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE REOPENED AN ISSUE OF 5-YEAR BGN-DENOMINATED GOVERNMENT SECURITIES AT 0.79% YIELD

The Ministry of Finance reopened an issue of 5-year government securities (GS) maturing on 4 February 2020. Securities with nominal value of BGN 100 million were offered and approved at the auction held on 14 December 2015. An annual average weighted yield of 0.79 percent was achieved. This is the lowest yield for this issue recorded so far. The subscribed amount totalled BGN 162.25 million, which corresponds to a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.62.

The spread to the German Bunds in this maturity segment is 99 basis points.

The banks acquired the largest quantity of GS at the auction - 67.1%, followed by pension funds - 30.9%, and guarantee funds - 2%.
