"We are doing everything possible public finances not to be the corner stone of election polemics" Deputy Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov said in the Face to Face programme of bTV. He refuted the BSP accusation that BGN 7 billion had been spent during the whole period of GERB government. "If we are speaking about the deficit accumulated since the beginning of the period and if we include also the 2013 January one then it is BGN 5.8 billion", Vladislav Goranov replied to his opponent Plamen Oresharski. Goranov said that meanwhile for the same period social expenditure had risen by BGN 14 billion and investment in different infrastructure projects - by BGN 1.2 billion and that that explained the overall financial policy of the Government. For Deputy Minister Goranov the biggest debate at the moment is whether a different fiscal stance is possible where the fiscal reserve could be larger than now if more money is borrowed. "We have always tried to find a balance between the available fiscal reserve amount and the cost that it has as interest payments. In this sense, when we talk about the fiscal reserve amount we must take this into account", the Deputy Minister of Finance said.
