Qatar is ready to invest in financial instruments issued by the Bulgarian Development Bank and the Bank Deposit Insurance Fund whereby under very favourable for Bulgaria conditions to support the financing of the National Programme for Energy Efficiency of Multi-Family Residential Buildings and the capitalisation of the Bank Deposit Insurance Fund. This became clear during the working meeting between the Bulgarian Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov and his Qatari colleague Ali Shareef Al Emadi.

During the meeting, held between the two Ministers this morning at the Ministry of Finance in Doha, the possibilities to enhance the cooperation between Bulgaria and the State of Qatar were discussed. "Bulgaria can offer Qatar very favourable conditions for investments in financial instruments, in particular those issued by the Bulgarian Development Bank and the Bank Deposit Insurance Fund. Our state is stable both politically and economically which has been positively appreciated also by the financial markets at the time of the issue that we have launched recently", Minister Goranov stressed.

On his part, Ali Shareef Al Emadi showed interest in Qatar investing in the Bulgarian financial system as well as in the energy and agricultural sectors, and in infrastructure. In his capacity of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Airways, Ali Shareef Al Emadi raised the question of expanding the operations of the Qatari national carrier in Bulgaria and expressed satisfaction with the current experience of Qatar Airways in Bulgaria. The possibility for establishing schemes for export of Bulgarian agricultural products to Qatar was also discussed.
