The audits of the ministries have started today in implementation of one of the priority economic measures of the Government. It includes an audit of the first-level spending units concerning the expenditures they have incurred and their financial commitments, as well as an analysis of their compliance with the Budget Law and the subsequent impact on budget parameters, including the deficit on accrual basis.

The audits will be carried out by the internal audit units of the relevant institutions and in parallel to that the control bodies of PFIA will make financial inspections by order of the Minister of Finance. The audits will be coordinated by the Deputy Minister of Finance Ms. Temenouzhka Petkova.

The audits will continue until 25 August, with a summary report on all audits expected to be drafted by the end of the month.
