Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov will take part in the ECOFIN meeting to be held in Brussels on 27 January 2015.

At the meeting the Commission will present a draft regulation on the establishment of a European fund for strategicinvestments (EFSI) within the "investment plan for Europe". The Council will hold an exchange of views thereon.

The EC Communication on the possibilities for flexibility within the existing rules of the Stability and Growth Pact that aim at strengthening the link between investments, structural reforms and fiscal accountability is to be discussed.

The agenda also includes presentation of the Latvian presidency's work programme on economic and financial affairs for the duration of its term in the first half of 2015 and the working programme of the Commission.

The Council is expected to endorse EU terms of reference for a meeting of G20 finance ministersand central bank governors in Istanbul on 9 and 10 February 2015.
