ALL FROZEN MUNICIPAL ACCOUNTS WITH CCB REFUNDED ON ACCOUNT OF THE CETRAL BUDGET

The Ministry of Finance has refunded the residual BGN 36.8 million to 15 municipalities under their frozen accounts in CCB, and all municipal funds in frozen CCB accounts have thus been fully repaid. We hereby remind that the municipal funds available with CCB totaled BGN 76.1 million, of which provisional non-interest loans of BGN 39.3 million extended from the central budget in September.

The operation made on 13 December 2014 is on the basis of a reference document submitted by the municipalities in implementation of CMD No 802/03.12.2014 and in connection to Article 99 of the 2014 State Budget of the Republic of Bulgaria Law. The allocation of these funds by accounts and by second- and lower-level spending units will be made through the budget of the relevant municipality. The current liabilities to municipal mandates with thus be settled and the arrears relating to basic social and infrastructure projects will be reduced.
