Consolidated debt of "General Government" sector amounts to BGN 13.6 billion as of Q3 of 2013, while the consolidated debt/GDP ratio amounts to 17.3 per cent. In accordance with the Eurostat data of 22 January 2014 concerning this indicator, Bulgaria ranks second after Estonia among the EU members.

In accordance with Article 36, paragraph 2 of the Public Finance Law, which is effective as from 1 January 2014, the Ministry of Finance should publish  

Consolidated debt of "General Government" sector data prepared in accordance with the methodology and the scope of Regulation No 479/2009 of 25 May 2009 as amended by Regulation No 679/2010 of 26 July.
