Minister of Finance Kalin Hristov will be taking part in the informal ECOFIN meeting which will be held on 12 and 13 April in Dublin, Ireland, to assess the financial stability of the EU.

Key policy issues concerning the financial markets based on the assessment made by the European Central Bank, the European Systemic Risk Board and the European surveillance authorities of the risks for the financial stability of the European Union will be discussed at the meeting.  The finance ministers will discuss the details of establishing the Single Supervisory Mechanism as an element of the banking union.

The agenda also includes a discussion of the key ideas of the Commission Green Paper on long-term financing and long-term investment. The possibilities for expansion of maturities of EFSF and EFSM loans for Ireland and Portugal will also be discussed.

ECOFIN will also approve the joint EU stand for the G-20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors on 17 and 18 April in Washington, as well as for the Spring IMF meeting on 20 April 2013.
