The Ministry of Finance will not avail of Crown Agents' proposal to continue their cooperation after the present contract with the consultants expires at the end of June this year.

In his letter to John Brown, Crown Agents Team Leader in Bulgaria, Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov stated „The Ministry of Finance appreciates the consultations and actions provided by Crown Agents under the current and previous contracts but we have to inform you that in view of the economic crisis and the need to adjust and reduce budget expenditure at this stage we will not avail of your proposal".

Under the current contract - Measures to Assist in the Modernisation of the Bulgarian Financial Administration, Phase 2 - the company implemented a number of tasks aiming to improve the work of the Customs Agency and the National Revenue Agency. In his letter to Brown Minister Djankov notes improved coordination and interaction between the revenue administrations, better control and progress in combating contraband.
