Bulgaria's Accession to the Euro Area and Schengen are the Main Common Topics for Bulgaria and France

The Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev had a first meeting with the French Ambassador to Bulgaria Joël Meyer. During the talks at the Ministry of Finance they highlighted the excellent bilateral relations and the benefits of developing and deepening them in the interest of the citizens of Bulgaria and France.

Minister Vassilev expressed his gratitude to H.E. Joël Meyer for supporting the pro-European priorities of the Government and Bulgaria's efforts to become a full-fledged member of the euro area and Schengen. He highlighted the Government's determination to continue working actively on these issues, stressing that the main parameters of the 2023 state budget were in line with them.

The head of the Embassy’s Economic Service Ms. Emmanuelle Boulestreau also took part in the meeting.
