The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ms. Lyudmila Petkova and the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Mr. Dimitar Radev took part in the Eurogroup meeting today. At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister presented the progress made in the implementation of the post-ERM II commitments.

Bulgaria has fulfilled almost all of its post-ERM II commitments and has fully met the legislative requirements. The country will continue working hard on the technical preparations for joining the euro area. Minister Petkova pointed out that the draft Law on the Introduction of the Euro had been submitted to the National Assembly for deliberation and hoped that it would be passed soon.
