The project for the Diagnostic of the state of development of the Bulgarian capital market launched by the Ministry of Finance in January 2022 is now completed.

The project has assessed the current status of the Bulgarian capital market, identified the barriers and impediments for further development and benchmarked the Bulgarian capital markets in comparison with selected EU jurisdictions.

Based on this assessment and discussions with the key stakeholders, a set of recommendations were presented to stakeholders on 26 April. The final report of the project aims to provide guidance to policy makers and authorities in their efforts for development of a capital market strategy to address those barriers.

The project was carried out with funding by the European Union under the Structural Reform Support Programme and in cooperation with the European Commission's Directorate General for Structural Reform Support, DG REFORM, implemented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
