The second meeting of the Coordination Committee on the Management of the National Development Programme: Bulgaria 2020 was held in the Ministry of Finance. Its members reviewed, discussed and adopted the Three-Year Action Plan on the Implementation of the National Development Programme: Bulgaria 2020 (2014-2016). Having been adopted, the Plan is to be submitted to the Development Council with the Council of Ministers.

The National Development Programme: Bulgaria 2020 is an integrated paper linking national priorities to EU ones in the context of the Europe 2020 Strategy. It outlines the framework for defining the priorities that allocate (national and EU) public funds and for mobilizing private and other financing. The Programme takes account of all the strategic documents adopted and provides consistency among the policies implemented in Bulgaria. At the end of 2012, the National Development Programme: Bulgaria 2020 was adopted by the Development Council and the Council of Ministers consecutively. With the recent legislative amendments the Council of Ministers has made arrangements for the establishment of a Coordination Committee to the Development Council to manage, monitor, control and report the implementation of the National Development Programme: Bulgaria 2020, which is at the level of deputy ministers and is chaired by the Minister of Finance. The Economic and Financial Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Finance exercises the functions of Committee Secretariat.
