MINISTRY OF FINANCE ISSUES EUR 25 MILLION 7-YEAR GOVERNMENT SECURITIES DENOMINATED IN EURO AND MATURING IN 2021

The Ministry of Finance has offered successfully 7-year government securities (GS) with nominal value of EUR 25 million. At the auction held on 10 February 2014 the weighted average yield of the issue maturing on 12 February 2021 was 2.97 per cent. The offers placed total EUR 66.35 million, the bid-to-cover ratio being 2.65. The biggest amount of GS was acquired by banks - 47.40%, followed by pension funds - 39.60%, insurance companies - 12.00% and guarantee funds - 1.00%.

The spread to the German Bunds in this maturity segment is 195 basis points. The yield achieved is lower than that of the bonds with similar maturity of EU members and countries from the region such as Romania (3.56%), Hungary (3.78%), Slovenia (4.30%) and Turkey (4.34%).
