GEORGI KOSTOV IS HEADING THE CUSTOMS AGENCY

Starting from today, Georgi Kostov is the new Director of the Customs Agency. He took the position from Rozalia Dimitrova who is returning to her position as Director of a Directorate at the Agency. Georgi Kostov has gained long experience at the Ministry of Interior, which will contribute to the successful organization, management, control and reporting of the customs administration activity.
Georgi Kostov was born on 7 April 1967 in the town of Haskovo. In 1992 he graduated as an engineer from the Technical University of Sofia. In 1993 - 1998 he was intelligence officer and inspector at the Ninth Territorial Police Department, Sofia. In 1999 he was appointed head of the Serious Crimes Group. In 2002 - 2009 he worked at the Crimes Against the Person Sector of the Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior; in 2009 he joined the Combating Organized and Serious Crimes Directorate; and in 2010 - 2011 he was on the position of head of sector to the Criminal Police at the Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior. In September 2011 - July 2014 he was Director of the Blagoevgrad Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior. In August - November 2014 he took the position of Director of the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior. In November 2014 he was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, and in March 2015 - Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior.
