Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov met with the Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness Jyrki Katainen. They discussed the priorities of our country during the forthcoming Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2018 as well as the topical issues on the European agenda.

After his meeting with the European Commissioner, Minister Goranov also had a meeting with the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Vazil Hudák. They discussed the cooperation between Bulgaria and the EIB as well as the financing of the Cohesion Policy and the technical assistance provided by the Bank. The European Investment Bank supports Bulgaria in the building of important infrastructure projects in the energy, transport and environmental sectors. At the end of 2016, Bulgaria and the EIB signed a Memorandum of Understanding supporting the establishment of an advisory platform under the Investment Plan for Europe (the "Juncker Plan") in Bulgaria.
