OPAC REQUESTED EC TO REIMBURSE FURTHER BGN 6.3 MILLION
17.12.2013
Since the beginning of 2013 over BGN 57.2 million have been paid to the beneficiaries under Operational Programme Administrative Capacity (OPAC) which almost equals the amount paid under the Programme in the past three years (2010, 2011 and 2012), namely BGN 59.6 million. Since the beginning of the programming period in 2007 BGN 191 million in total has been paid or 54% of OPAC overall budget.
At the same time the accelerated verification process continues and at the end of the programming period the OPAC Managing Authority has released a new report for certification with a request for reimbursement of BGN 6,356,462. The amount has been verified by OPAC experts only in the past two months, while the approved expenditure made by OPAC beneficiaries after 2007 as of the moment amount to BGN 172,421,882.
The contracting process also continues. All announced procedures meet both the Programme objectives and the needs of the beneficiaries. OPAC's analysis shows that almost all municipalities, 250 of 264 in total, have submitted project proposals. For the purpose of enhancing the activity and capacity of the central, regional and local administrations, and of the judiciary only this year 27 information days were held with the participation of over 1,000 potential beneficiaries, and 11 training courses for proper project management with almost 1,000 participants were organized.
More than BGN 64 million have been contracted under OPAC since the beginning of the year (or 18.1% of the budget), and thus the budget contracted since the launching of the Programme amounts to almost BGN 331 million or 93.6%.
