The payments made on the maturing during the year Euro Bond and the issue of Government Securities on the domestic market are among the main reasons leading to a change in the currency structure of the debt:

- 31.7% - in BGN;
- 11.7% - in US Dollars;
- 1.2% - in other currencies.

The reported decrease by BGN 234.2 million compared to its level as of December 2012 is due both to redemption payments of external government guaranteed loans and to the foreign currency exchange rate difference reported at the year-end. The ratio of government guaranteed debt to GDP is 1.0%.
