BOZHIDAR ALEXOV AND ROZALIA DIMITROVA APPOINTED AS DEPUTY DIRECTORS OF THE CUSTOMS AGENCY

An order of the Minister of Finance Rumen Porodzanov appoints Mr. Bozhidar Alexov and Ms. Rozalia Dimitrova as deputy directors of the Bulgarian Customs Agency. They have been proposed by the Director, Mr. Vanyo Tanov. The previous deputy director, Mr. Chavdar Vassev, has been discharged upon his own request.
Mr. Bozhidar Alexov has an MA degree in Accountancy and Control from the University of National and World Economy and a post-graduate qualification in International Economic Relations and Customs Policy. His is an expert with long experience in the customs and tax matters. He began his professional career in the Sofia Customs Office in 1991 and from 1998 to 2008 he took various positions in the Regional Customs Directorate of Sofia where he was Head of Customs Regimes and Procedures Division, Excise Duties Division and Ex-post Control Division. Since 2009 he has been taking managerial positions in the Customs Agency as Director of Excise Duties Directorate and Head of Division within the Financial and Economic Activities and Property Management Directorate. On behalf of the Customs Agency he is a leader of the Setting Up of the Bulgarian Excise Centralised Information System (BECIS) project and of the Setting Up of a Fuel Control Information System of NRA project.
Ms. Rozalia Dimitrova has a MA degree in Non-Organic and Electrochemical Productions from the Higher Institute of Chemistry and Technology in Sofia (Chemistry ad Technology and Metallurgy University of Sofia) and a post-graduate qualification in International Economic Relations and Customs Policy from the Univesity of National and World Economy. He has been working in the customs administration since 1991 by taking all positions from trainee customs officer to director of directorate. Since 2011 she has been Director of Customs Regimes and Procedures Directorate in the Central Office of the Customs Agency. She has participated in the work of the Customs Code Committee and in groups at European Commission level. She has coordinated the work of the customs administration at national level and has participated in the meetings to discuss the provisions of the draft Delegated Act and the Act Implementing the Union's Customs Code (to be implemented as from 01.05.2015). She has been awarded for results achieved in the preparation of the customs administration for the process of accession of the Republic of Bulgaria to the EU and for contributing to the World Customs Organisation.
