The Minister of Finance Petar Chobanov will take part in the meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) to be held on 11 March 2014 in Brussels. The agenda envisages a discussion of the possibilities to adopt an amendment of the Directive on the Taxation of Savings. The discussions of the Single Resolution Mechanism will continue by considering the possible changes to the general approach to the file in view of reaching an agreement with the European Parliament.

In connection to the preparation for the European Council on 20 and 21 March the Finance Ministers will discuss the economic elements of the EU 2030 energy and climate framework. The Presidency will inform the Council of Ministers on the Follow-up to G20 Meeting of Finance Ministers and Governors (Sydney, Australia, 22‑23 February 2014). There will also be a special meeting of the Ministers within the Council to discuss the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Single Resolution Fund.
