MINISTER GORANOV SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON TECHNICAL COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE OF THE KINGDOM OF THE NETHERLANDS AND HELD WORKING MEETINGS IN BRUSSELS

Minister Vladislav Goranov signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. On the part of the Netherlands, the document was signed by the Dutch Minister of Finance Jeroen Dijsselbloem. The Memorandum sets a framework for joint technical and financial cooperation between the two Ministries for the purpose of ensuring exchange of knowledge, experience and expertise between the employees of the two institutions, as well as of sharing information on the implementation of policies, the decision-making processes, the legislation and the services in the area of public finance. The activities under this Memorandum will be included in annual bilateral programmes for cooperation.
The Minister of Finance is in Brussels to take part in the meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN).
After the meeting of the Council, Minister Goranov had a working meeting with the European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs Pierre Moscovici. They discussed the priorities of our country during the forthcoming Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2018.
In the context of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council Vladislav Goranov also met with the European Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources Günther Oettinger.
During his visit to Brussels Minister Goranov also had a working meeting with the Director General of DG Economic Affairs and Competitiveness of the Secretariat General of the EU Council Carsten Pillath. They discussed the practical aspects of the preparation of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council.
