On 26 September 2022 the Ministry of Finance launched a new issue of 5.5-year BGN-denominated government securities (GS) with an interest rate of 3.20%.

GS of an aggregate nominal value of BGN 149.95 million were offered at the auction at a weighted average yield of 4.13%.

The total subscribed amount reached BGN203.85 million, which corresponds to a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.02. The spread reported as against the analogous German Bunds is 223 basis points. The biggest amount of GS was acquired by banks – 81.3%, followed by pension funds – 9.3%, insurance companies – 6.7%, guarantee funds – 2.0% and investment intermediaries – 0.7%.
