The Law on Gambling is modern and corresponds to all EU practices in this regard which have been carefully considered. This was said by Deputy Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov for Focus Agency after the law was adopted on second hearing by Parliament. So far there has been money siphoning in Bulgaria for participation in online gambling, while this money will now remain in the country, said Deputy Minister Goranov. There is an 18-month period between promulgation of the law and alignment of casinos and gambling facilities with the new requirements. According to Deputy Minister Goranov the greatest achievement of the new law is the fact that the bulk of proceeds from online gambling will be allocated for financing of sports in Bulgaria.
